If you go to Google Trends and type in Eat Every Other Day Diet or EODD for short you will see a sharp rise starting 2009 and zooming upward. This is when the concept of an every other day diet plan (EODD) began to seep into the consciousness of people seeking to finally gain control of their health. Needless to say, weight loss weighs heavy on the minds of many people.
Trim Down Fast With An EODD
An EODD or every other day diet is a method to trim down fast that doesn’t rely on long boring low calorie diets or long boring meat only diets, or long tasteless low fat diets. Instead it relies on a method known as calorie shifting where you vary your caloric intake in order to keep your body from going into starvation mode and slowing its metabolism down to a crawl. An every other day diet plan can allow you to trim down fast and still eat the way you want, but just not as often.
An Extreme EOOD diet
The QOD Diet available on Amazon is an example of an extreme every other day diet plan. More spiritually centered than diet centered, this plan actually has you eating every other day and while this may allow you to eat the way you want to, I found that fasting every other day was more difficult than I imagined and I think that is where this plan can break down for those of us who are disinclined to lead a monk’s life.
Other EODD diet plans
Other eat every other day diet plans are less austere and provide a lean protein diet as the basis to trim down fast and then have feed days built into the EODD plan to jolt the metabolism and keep it roaring. And those feed days are fun. The beauty of this type of eat every other day diet is that you can coincide these feed days with holidays and special occasions. They are also motivators to help us stay focused and committed to your trim down fast goals. It makes a diet much easier to stick with when you have a feed day to look forward to.
Feed days on an EODD diet
You can trim down fast and still enjoy pizza, doughnuts and foods like that on your feed day and you will still trim down fast. In fact you will trim down fast on an EODD diet more than on other diets that seem to be more aggressive simply because you will be more inclined to stay committed to an eat every other day diet plan.
Is an EODD diet plan the answer?
Every person is different and every diet has weaknesses and strengths that vary according to each individual so answering that question will lie with you. I would say that if you have not been able to trim down fast in the past because diets were to restrictive, boring, or you kept plateauing then an eat every other day diet plan or EODD may just be the ticket for you to trim down fast with.
