Everybody knows that having a great smile is impossible without white shiny teeth, but smiling is great because it makes you feel good and other persons find you more likeable.
But how do you want to smile if your teeth lost all their natural whiteness and shine? Nobody wants to show yellow teeth as nobody wants to see yellow teeth. (more…)
You may wonder why it is important to end periodontal disease. But besides your teeth starting to look bad, and your gums bleeding there is much more to it than that. It can be linked to many different medical problems too.

I am a late smoker, as I was in my late twenties when I first picked up the habit. I am also a coffee addict. The result is probably as you guessed it: yellowing, discolored teeth! I am also not fond of going to the dentist. I would go when I really have to, but normally, I would just make sure that I am taking care of my teeth by brushing, flossing and using mouthwash regularly.
But when I saw how discolored by teeth had become, my immediate reaction was to buy some advertised at home teeth whitening products. I spent a fortune on them, and I was thinking that the price would ultimately work out to be more reasonable than actually going to the dentist. But boy was I ever wrong!
The first at home teeth whitening product that I used would be the whitening toothpaste. I was thinking that it’s easy to use, and it’s just a matter of me switching to another brand of toothpaste. I waited for a few days to see the difference, but impatient that I am, after three days, I decided to switch to another product for teeth whitening at home. This time, I tried whitening strips.
Since the whitening strips would actually be applied against the teeth and would be left on for a period of time, I was thinking this would be the best solution to my teeth discoloration problem. I was excited in using the strips, but I did not really follow the instructions accurately. I wanted to maximize the strips’ effectiveness, and left them on for much longer than the instructions indicated.

Yellow stains on the teeth are often caused by nicotine, cigarettes or excessive intake of coffee and tea. It can really be embarrassing if you smile and people could see that you have yellowish teeth. However, the costs can potentially be high if you schedule a teeth whitening appointment with your dentist. However, there are lots of teeth whitening at home options which can help your brighten you teeth up to 7 shades whiter. These remedies are very affordable and effective as well.
One of the teeth whitening at home options is using hydrogen peroxide. Combine hydrogen peroxide with baking soda, and you can also add some mint toothpaste to add some flavor. Pour water over the mixture until it becomes a thick paste. Apply some of this paste on your teeth everyday; you can do this after you brush your teeth in the morning. Keep the mixture on your teeth for about 10 to 15 minutes, then rinse. Practice this for 2 months, and you will eventually see the big change it will have on your teeth color. You can try adding some salt or toothpaste in the mixture once in a while. However, you’ll want to refrain from using this teeth whitening at home remedy if you have gingivitis or gum problems.

If you’ve been even thinking about tooth whitening, then you’ve undoubtedly come across many “at home” systems. Lately, there has been a lot of buzz circulating around the internet and television about the great effects they have on your teeth. But the question remains: is it all hype, or is it true? I have a bit of experience with tooth whitening systems, so let’s look at the facts…
There actually are many teeth whitening products that you can use at home. Typically, before these products, you would have to visit a dentist, pay thousands of dollars, give up weeks of your life to repeatedly visit the dentist, and even then, many times there was no guarantee of success. Additionally, a lot of the chemicals that dentists have been using for years are turning out to be harmful to your tooth enamel.

So you have a night mouth guard as well? And let me guess, you went travelling to the next city, the next country, or even the other side of the world … and you forgot to pack the night mouth guard with you?
Then as you were going to bed on your first night in your new town you brushed your teeth and went to get your guard and that’s when, much like Homer Simpson, you said “Doh!”.
You thought you’d be ok though … but as you struggled to get to sleep you found yourself biting on the sheet or the pillow just to get some comfort. And when you woke up in the morning, you felt like you’d had a rough night’s sleep and your mouth just didn’t feel particularly normal.
Hands up who’s had this happen to them? Wow, the whole room it seems!
If I’ve just perfectly described an experience you’ve had then you, like me, know the pain and suffering that bruxism can cause, and how much of a pain it can be when you forget to take your night mouth guard with you.
